Diagnostic Routine I

Diagnostic Routine I

Diagnostic Overview

The Mirrors Are Inoperative - Without Power Rear Windows

Refer to Wiring Diagram Set 124 for schematic and connector information Electrical Diagrams.

Normal operation and Fault conditions

BCM (Body Control Module) fuse 25 (10A) supplies voltage to the exterior mirror control switch at all times when the ignition is in the ON position. The exterior mirror control switch has only one ground circuit. Each exterior mirror shares a common circuit for both up/down and right/left movement.

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

- Inspect BCM (Body Control Module) fuse 25 (10A)

- Inspect the exterior mirror control switch

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK VOLTAGE TO THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH

1. Disconnect: Master Window Control Switch C566B.

2. Ignition ON.

3. Measure:

Is the voltage greater than 11 volts?

2. CHECK FOR GROUND TO THE MASTER WINDOW CONTROL SWITCH

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: Master Window Control Switch C566A.

3. Measure:

Is the resistance less than 3 ohms?

3. CHECK THE EXTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR COMMON CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE

1. Disconnect: LH (Left Hand) Exterior Mirror C521.

2. Disconnect: RH (Right Hand) Exterior Mirror C626.

3. Ignition ON.

4. Measure:

Is any voltage present?

4. CHECK THE EXTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR MOTOR COMMON CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Measure:

Are the resistances greater than 10,000 ohms?

5. CHECK THE EXTERIOR REAR VIEW MIRROR MOTOR COMMON CIRCUITS FOR A SHORT TOGETHER

1. Measure:

Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
