Diagnostic Overview

An Individual Button/Feature Is Inoperative From The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Transmitter

Normal Operations and Fault Conditions

The remote locking and unlocking of the doors, releasing the liftgate or luggage compartment lid latch, or activation of the panic alarm is accomplished by the BCM (Body Control Module) receiving a command message from the RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) transmitter. The BCM (Body Control Module) processes the command and provides the appropriate output.

The BCM (Body Control Module) disables the panic feature if the ignition key is in any position other than OFF or LOCK.

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

- Inspect the RKE (Remote Keyless Entry) transmitter.

Do the door locks operate correctly?

2. VERIFY THE HORN OPERATION USING THE HORN OUTPUT (HORN) PID (Parameter Identification)

2. Select the BCM (Body Control Module) PID (Parameter Identification) HORN and active command the horn on.

Does the horn sound when commanded on?
