Diagnostic Overview
U0140:00
Normal Operation and Fault Conditions
The DDM (Driver Door Module) and PDM (Passenger Door Module) communicate with the BCM (Body Control Module) over the MS-CAN (Medium Speed Controller Area Network).
If the DDM (Driver Door Module) or PDM (Passenger Door Module) do not receive messages from the BCM (Body Control Module), features such as power door locks, puddle lamps, exterior mirror turn signal, and door switch illumination can be inoperative.
DTC Fault Trigger Conditions
Pinpoint Test
1. VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN
1. Ignition ON.
2. Verify there is an observable symptom present.
Is an observable symptom present?
2. CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK
1. Using a scan tool, perform a network test.
Does the BCM (Body Control Module) pass the network test?
3. RETRIEVE THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE BCM (Body Control Module) SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM (Body Control Module) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U3003:16 or U3003:17 recorded?
4. RETRIEVE THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM THE DDM (Driver Door Module) AND PDM (Passenger Door Module) SELF-TEST
1. Using a scan tool, perform the DDM (Driver Door Module) self-test.
2. Using a scan tool, perform the PDM (Passenger Door Module) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U3003:62 recorded?
5. RECHECK THE DDM (Driver Door Module) AND PDM (Passenger Door Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes)
1. Clear the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
2. Wait 10 seconds.
3. Using a scan tool, perform the DDM (Driver Door Module) self-test.
4. Using a scan tool, perform the PDM (Passenger Door Module) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0140:00 still present?
6. CHECK FOR DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0140 SET IN OTHER MODULES
1. Clear all DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
2. Ignition OFF.
3. Ignition ON.
4. Wait 10 seconds.
5. Using a scan tool, perform the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster) self-test.
Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) U0140:00 set in the IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster)?
