Door Lock Cylinder
WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.
Removal
1. NOTE: Individual lock cylinders are repaired by discarding the inoperative cylinder and rebuilding a new lock cylinder using the appropriate lock repair package. The lock repair package includes a detailed instruction sheet to build the new lock to match the key cut pattern for the vehicle, thus allowing for single point replacement without needing to replace or reprogram other locks or keys.
Remove the exterior door handle bezel bolt cover and loosen, but do not remove, the exterior door handle bezel bolt.
2. Remove the door lock cylinder from the exterior door handle in the following sequence:
1. Pull outward and remove the exterior door handle bezel.
2. Remove the door lock cylinder.
Installation
1. Install the door lock cylinder into the exterior door handle in the following sequence:
1. Install the door lock cylinder.
2. Install the exterior door handle bezel.
2. NOTICE: Overtightening the exterior front door handle bezel bolt will result in the increased opening effort of the door handle and possible damage to the exterior front door handle bezel.
Tighten the exterior door handle bezel bolt to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).
3. Install the exterior door handle bezel bolt cover.
