B-Pillar Trim Panel

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Position the front seat in the full forward position.

2. WARNING: Turn the ignition OFF and wait one minute to deplete the backup power supply. Ignition must remain OFF until repair is complete. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury or death in the event of an accidental deployment.

For RH (Right Hand) B-pillar, turn the ignition OFF and wait at least one minute.

3. Remove the front door scuff plate. REFER to Scuff Plate Trim Panel - Front .

4. Remove the rear door scuff plate. REFER to Scuff Plate Trim Panel - Rear .

5. For RH (Right Hand) B-pillar, disconnect the BTS (Belt Tension Sensor).

1. For vehicles equipped with full bench rear seat cushion, remove the rear seat cushion. REFER to Seat Cushion - Full Bench .

2. For vehicles equipped with 60/40 rear seat cushion, lift the RH (Right Hand) seat cushion up.

3. Position the RH (Right Hand) side rear carpet aside to gain access to the BTS (Belt Tension Sensor) electrical connector.

4. Disconnect the BTS (Belt Tension Sensor) electrical connector.

6. Position the front and rear door weatherstrip aside around the lower B-pillar trim panel and release the 4 lower B-pillar clips and remove the lower B-pillar trim panel.





7. Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel.

1. Position the front and rear door weatherstrip aside from around the B-pillar trim panel.

2. Remove upper B-pillar trim panel screw cover.

3. Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel screw.

4. Release the 2 upper B-pillar trim panel clips.

5. Remove front seat safety belt anchor bolt and feed the safety belt through the upper B-pillar trim panel and remove the trim panel.
- To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).






Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- During installation align the safety belt height adjuster with the upper B-pillar trim panel.
