Instrument Panel

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in the procedure may contain installation details.

1. Drain the engine coolant. REFER to Cooling System Draining .

2. Evacuate and recover the A/C (Air Conditioning) refrigerant. REFER to Air Conditioning (AC) System Recovery, Evacuation and Charging .

3. Remove the cowl grille panel. REFER to Cowl Panel Grille .

- 25 Nm (18 lb-ft)





6. NOTE: Make sure all openings are sealed.

- 8 Nm (71 lb-in)





7. NOTE: Make sure all openings are sealed.






8. Remove both front doors. REFER to Door - Front .

9. Remove the floor console. REFER to Console - Front, Floor .

10. Remove the automatic transmission selector lever or the manual transmission gearshift lever. REFER to Selector Lever or REFER to Gearshift Lever .

11. Remove the 3 parking brake control bolts and position the parking brake control aside.
- 35 Nm (26 lb-ft)





12. Both sides. REFER to A-Pillar Trim Panel .

19. Remove and discard the steering column shaft-to-steering gear bolt and disconnect the steering column shaft from the steering gear.
- 28 Nm (21 lb-ft)

28. NOTICE: To avoid damaging the instrument panel, an assistant is required when carrying out the following steps.

NOTE: RH (Right Hand) side shown, LH (Left Hand) side similar.

NOTE: Remove the bolts from one side completely and support the instrument panel before removing the bolts from the opposite side.

- 25 Nm (18 lb-ft)





29. NOTICE: Make sure not to damage the LH (Left Hand) front door trim panel or the instrument panel when removing the instrument panel from the vehicle.

NOTICE: Make sure that all electrical connectors and wiring are not hindered before removing the instrument panel or damage to the components may occur.

Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle.

- Rotate the instrument panel face down and remove through the LH (Left Hand) front door opening.

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
