Hood Hinge: Service and Repair

Hood Hinge

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal

1. Remove the hood. REFER to Hood .

2. For the RH (Right Hand) hood hinge, remove the washer hose retainers and position aside the washer hose.





3. Remove the fender splash shield. REFER to Fender Splash Shield .

4. NOTE: LH (Left Hand) side shown, RH (Right Hand) side similar.
Working through the wheel opening, remove the hood hinge-to-body bolts.





5. Remove the hood hinge.

Installation

1. Position the hood hinge to the vehicle.

2. NOTE: LH (Left Hand) side shown, RH (Right Hand) side similar.
Working through the wheel opening, install the hood hinge-to-body bolts.
- 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).





3. Install the fender splash shield. REFER to Fender Splash Shield .

4. Install the hood. REFER to Hood .

5. For the RH (Right Hand) hood hinge, install the washer hose and retainers.





6. If necessary, adjust the hood. REFER to Hood Alignment .
