Front Door: Adjustments

Door Alignment - Front

WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

General Procedure

1. Remove the door latch striker.

2. To adjust the door for in and out or up and down alignment:

1. Loosen but do not remove the door hinge-to-door bolts enough to allow door alignment.

3. To adjust the door for front-to-back or tilt alignment:

1. Loosen but do not remove the door hinge-to-body bolts enough to allow door alignment.

4. Adjust the door to specification. REFER to Body Dimensions .

5. Tighten the door hinge fasteners:

1. Tighten the door hinge-to-door bolts to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).

2. Tighten the door hinge-to-body bolts to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).

6. Install the door latch striker and bolts.
