Diagnostic Overview

U3006:17

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions






Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK FOR HIGH VOLTAGE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) SET IN OTHER MODULES

1. Ignition ON.

2. Using a scan tool, retrieve all continuous DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) from all modules.

Are high voltage DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) (e.g. B1676, P0563, U3003:17) set in more than one module?






2. CHECK THE BATTERY VOLTAGE

1. Turn off all interior/exterior lights and accessories.

2. Start and run the engine at approximately 2,000 RPM (Revolutions Per Minute) for 3 minutes while monitoring the battery voltage.

Does the battery voltage rise to 16.5 volts or higher?






3. RECHECK FOR DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) U3006:17

1. Turn the engine off.

2. Ignition ON.

3. Using a scan tool, clear the continuous memory FCDIM (Front Control/Display Interface Module) DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

4. Using a scan tool, perform the FCDIM (Front Control/Display Interface Module) self-test.

Is DTC U3006:17 present?
