Diagnostic Overview

Normal Operation and Fault Conditions

Pinpoint Test

1. CHECK THE ACTIVE PARK SWITCH FOR AN INTERNAL SHORT

1. Disconnect: Active Park Assist Switch.

2. Using a scan tool, clear the DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) and repeat the PAM (Parking Aid Module) self-test.

Is PAM (Parking Aid Module) DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B129E:73 recorded?






2. CHECK THE ACTIVE PARK SWITCH SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND

1. Disconnect: PAM (Parking Aid Module) C4014A.

2. Measure:





Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?






3. CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM (Parking Aid Module) OPERATION

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect and inspect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connectors.

3. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary

4. Reconnect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?
