DTC Fault Trigger Conditions

Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

- Inspect the bumper wiring harness for opens, shorts, grounds, or corrosion.

Pinpoint Test

NOTICE: Use the correct probe adapter(s) when making measurements. Failure to use the correct probe adapter(s) may damage the connector.

1. RETRIEVE THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) FROM BOTH THE CONTINUOUS AND ON-DEMAND PAM (Parking Aid Module) SELF-TESTS

1. Using a scan tool, perform PAM (Parking Aid Module) self-test.

Are multiple parking aid sensor DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) recorded?

2. CHECK THE FRONT BUMPER WIRING HARNESS

1. Inspect the bumper wiring harness for opens, shorts, grounds, or corrosion.

Is the bumper wiring harness OK?

3. CHECK THE ACTIVE PARK ASSIST SENSOR CIRCUITRY FOR OPENS

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect: Suspect Active Park Assist Sensor.

3. Disconnect: PAM (Parking Aid Module) C4014B.

4. For DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B129C:14, measure:

5. For DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B129D:14, measure:

Are the resistances less than 3 ohms?

4. CHECK THE ACTIVE PARK ASSIST SENSOR CIRCUITRY FOR SHORTS TO GROUND

1. For DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B129C:14, measure:

2. For DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B129D:14, measure:

Are the resistances greater than 10,000 ohms?

5. CHECK FOR CORRECT PAM (Parking Aid Module) OPERATION

1. Ignition OFF.

2. Disconnect and inspect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connectors.

3. Repair:

- corrosion (install new connector or terminals- clean module pins)
- damaged or bent pins- install new terminals/pins
- pushed-out pins- install new pins as necessary

4. Reconnect the PAM (Parking Aid Module) connectors. Make sure they seat and latch correctly.

5. Operate the system and determine if the concern is still present.

Is the concern still present?
