Diagnostic Overview

Normal Operations and Fault Conditions

When the BCM (Body Control Module) enters a key programming state, it activates the transceiver to read the key in the backup slot. If a valid IA (Intelligent Access) key is used and there are no concerns with the PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) the key is programmed into the BCM (Body Control Module) memory.

DTC Fault Trigger Conditions






Visual Inspection and Diagnostic Pre-checks

- Inspect the IA (Intelligent Access) key for damage.

- Verify the correct key is being used.

Pinpoint Test

1. RETRIEVE THE DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) IN THE BCM (Body Control Module)

1. Ignition ON.

2. Using a scan tool, perform the BCM (Body Control Module) self-test to retrieve DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

Is DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) B10D5:94, B10D7:81, or B10D7:87 retrieved?






2. CHECK THE IA (Intelligent Access) KEY

1. Verify the correct IA (Intelligent Access) keys are used with the vehicle. REFER to Intelligent Access (IA) Key .
