Remote Functions Receiver (RFR) Module
WARNING: Before beginning any service procedure, REFER to Safety Warnings . Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Removal
NOTICE: Do not bend or crease the headliner during removal or installation. Failure to follow this will result in damage to the headliner.
NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.
1. Remove both A-pillar trim panels. REFER to A-Pillar Trim Panel .
2. Release the headliner wiring harness retainers from the RH (Right Hand) A-pillar and, for 5 door vehicles, disconnect and plug the rear window washer hose.
3. For vehicles without an overhead console, remove the sunglass holder.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
4. For vehicles equipped with an overhead console, remove the overhead console. REFER to Console - Overhead .
5. For vehicles equipped with auto dimming rear view mirror, remove the rain sensor upper and lower covers.
6. For vehicles equipped with auto dimming rear view mirror, disconnect the rear view mirror and rain sensor electrical connectors.
7. Position aside both upper B-pillar trim panels.
1. Position aside the front and rear door weatherstrip from around the upper B-pillar trim panel.
2. Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel screw cover.
3. Remove the upper B-pillar trim panel screw.
4. Disconnect the upper clips of the lower B-pillar trim panel from the upper B-pillar trim panel.
5. Release the 2 upper B-pillar trim panel clips and position the upper B-pillar aside.
8. Remove both D-pillar trim panels. REFER to D-Pillar Trim Panel - 5-Door Hatchback or REFER to D-Pillar Trim Panel - 4-Door Sedan. D-Pillar Trim Panel - 4-Door Sedan
9. For 4 door vehicles, remove both upper C-pillar trim panels. REFER to C-Pillar Trim Panel - Upper. C-Pillar Trim Panel - Upper
10. Remove both sunvisors.
1. Remove both sunvisor screws.
2. Position the upper corner of the headliner down to access the sunvisor electrical connector and disconnect the electrical connector and remove the sun visor.
11. Remove the passenger front assist handle and both rear garment hooks.
NOTE: Assist handle shown, garment hooks similar.
12. For 5 door vehicles, disconnect and plug the rear window washer hose from the RH (Right Hand) D-pillar.
13. NOTE: 5 door shown, 4 door similar.
Position aside all weather strip from around the headliner.
14. Position front passenger and rear seats.
1. Position the rear seat backrest in the full flat position.
2. Position the front seats in the full forward and full reclined position.
3. Remove both front passenger seat headrest.
15. With the help of an assistant remove both sun visor clips and remove both headliner rear pin-type retainer and position the headliner down.
16. NOTICE: Gently pry the RFR (Remote Functions Receiver) module away from the headliner or damage to the headliner may occur.
Installation
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. NOTE: Obtain the 3M(TM) Duramix(TM) 4747 Super Fast Adhesive commercially. The 3M(TM) Duramix(TM) Super Fast Adhesives is a 2-part adhesive in a 50 ml dual-tube applicator. The 3M(TM) Duramix(TM) 4747 Super Fast Adhesive will set in 20 seconds.
Install the RFR (Remote Functions Receiver) module using 3M(TM) Duramix(TM) 4747 Super Fast Adhesive to secure the RFR (Remote Functions Receiver) module to the headliner in approximately the same position and orientation on the headliner.
