Inspection and Verification
1. Verify the customer concern.
2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
3. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage. Refer to the following chart:

4. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
5. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom. GO to Symptom Chart Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures.
