Evaporative Emissions Hose: Service and Repair




Fuel Vapor Tube Assembly

Removal

WARNING: Do not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or have an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

WARNING: Do not carry personal electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers or audio equipment of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

WARNING: Always disconnect the battery ground cable at the battery when working on an evaporative emission (EVAP) system or fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Jacking and Lifting Service and Repair.

2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery, Mounting and Cables Service and Repair.

3. NOTE: Coupe shown, convertible similar.

Detach the fuel vapor tube assembly from the retainer clip.





4. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister vapor tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to Fuel System - General Information Quick Connect Coupling.

5. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel tank quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to Fuel System - General Information Quick Connect Coupling.

6. Disconnect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel tank filler pipe recirculation tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to Fuel System - General Information Quick Connect Coupling.

7. Release the fuel vapor tube assembly separator clips.

8. Detach the fresh air hose from the 2 retainer clips.

9. Disconnect the Fuel Tank Pressure (FTP) sensor electrical connector.

10. Detach the fuel vapor tube assembly retainer clip from the rear body.





11. Remove the bolt and the fuel vapor tube assembly.

Installation

1. Install the fuel vapor tube assembly and the bolt.
- Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

2. Attach the fuel vapor tube assembly retainer clip to the rear body.





3. Connect the FTP sensor electrical connector.

4. NOTICE: The fresh air hose must be attached to the retainer clip at the colored band to provide the designed clearance between the fresh air hose and exhaust components. Failure to follow these instructions may damage the fresh air hose.

Align the colored band on the fresh air hose with the retainer clip and attach the hose.

- Attach the fresh air hose to the remaining retainer clip.





5. Attach the fuel vapor tube assembly separator clips.

6. Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel tank filler pipe recirculation tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to Fuel System - General Information Quick Connect Coupling.

7. Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-fuel tank quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to Fuel System - General Information Quick Connect Coupling.

8. Connect the fuel vapor tube assembly-to-EVAP canister vapor tube quick connect coupling. For additional information, refer to Fuel System - General Information Quick Connect Coupling.

9. NOTE: Coupe shown, convertible similar.

Attach the fuel vapor tube assembly to the retainer clip.





10. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery, Mounting and Cables Service and Repair.

11. Carry out the Evaporative Emission System Leak Test. For additional information, refer to Evaporative Emission System Leak Test Testing and Inspection.
