Passenger Air Bag Module









Removal

NOTE: The air bag warning indicator illuminates when the correct Restraints Control Module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition is ON.

NOTE: The Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

1. Depower the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering.

2. Lower the glove compartment door.

3. Remove the 4 bolts and position the Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) aside.





4. Disconnect the passenger air bag module electrical connector.

5. Remove the 2 air bag module bolts.

6. Through the glove box opening, detach the air bag trim cover clips from the instrument panel and remove the passenger air bag module.

Installation

1. Install the passenger air bag module.
- Seat the air bag trim cover clips into the instrument panel.

2. Connect the passenger air bag module electrical connector.

3. Install the 2 passenger air bag module bolts.
- Tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).

4. Position the APIM and install the 4 bolts.
