Transmission Fluid Cooler




Transmission Fluid Cooler

















Removal

1. Remove the upper air deflector.





2. Remove the 4 upper radiator support bracket bolts and the upper radiator support brackets.





3. Remove the 2 A/C condenser retaining bolts.





4. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.

5. Remove the lower air deflector.

6. Remove the 2 A/C condenser retaining nuts and position the A/C condenser forward.





7. Remove the 2 transmission fluid cooler tube quick connect secondary latches.





8. Using the Transmission Cooler Line Disconnect Tool, disconnect both transmission cooler fluid tubes from the transmission fluid cooler hoses.





9. Release the transmission fluid cooler hose-to-frame retainer.





10. Remove the 2 transmission fluid cooler retaining screws.





11. Lift and remove the transmission fluid cooler from the retaining pockets.





12. If necessary, remove and discard the 2 transmission fluid cooler-to-hose clamps and remove the transmission fluid cooler hoses from the transmission fluid cooler.

Installation

1. If removed, install the transmission fluid cooler hoses to the transmission fluid cooler and install 2 new transmission fluid cooler-to-hose clamps.

2. Position the transmission fluid cooler in the retaining pockets.





3. Install the transmission fluid cooler screws.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).





4. Position the transmission fluid cooler hoses into the transmission fluid cooler hose-to-frame retainer and lock the retainer.





5. Connect the transmission fluid cooler hoses to the transmission fluid cooler tubes.

6. Install the transmission fluid cooler tube quick connect secondary latches onto the transmission fluid cooler tubes.





7. Reposition the A/C condenser and install the 2 A/C condenser retaining nuts.
- Tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).





8. Install the lower air deflector.

9. Install the 2 A/C condenser retaining bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).





10. Install the radiator support brackets and the 4 upper radiator support bracket bolts.
- Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).





11. Install the upper air deflector.





12. Fill the transmission with fluid and verify correct operation.
