Removal and Installation
1. Turn the steering wheel to the straight ahead position and turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.

2. CAUTION: Do not allow the steering wheel to rotate while the steering column intermediate shaft is disconnected or damage to the clockspring can result. If there is evidence that the intermediate shaft has rotated, the clockspring must be removed and recentered.

Remove the lower coupling pinch bolt and disconnect the intermediate shaft from the coupling. Discard the bolt.
^ To install, tighten to 47 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
3. Remove the 3 nuts and the intermediate shaft and seal.
4. Remove the pinch bolt and remove the intermediate shaft. Discard the bolt.
^ To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
