Removal and Installation
1. Remove the brake drum.
2. Remove and discard the wheel hub grease cap.

3. CAUTION: Discard the rear wheel hub retaining nut. It is a torque prevailing design and cannot be reused.

CAUTION: Use care not to damage the rear anti-lock brake system (ABS) sensor when removing or installing the wheel hub.

Remove and discard the wheel hub retainer, then remove the wheel hub.
^ To install, tighten to 300 Nm (221 ft. lbs.).

4. NOTE: Thoroughly clean any grease from the surrounding surfaces. If a new hub assembly is being installed, remove the protective coating.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Always install a new wheel hub retainer and a new wheel hub grease cap.
