Compressor Manifold and Tube Assembly
COMPRESSOR MANIFOLD AND TUBE ASSEMBLYRemoval and Installation
NOTE: Installation of a new suction accumulator is not required when repairing the air conditioning system except when there is physical evidence of system contamination from a failed A/C compressor or damage to the suction accumulator.
1. Recover the refrigerant.
2. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
3. Remove the lower radiator air deflector.
1 Remove the 5 screws. Remove the air deflector, if equipped.
2 Remove the 7 screws and remove the lower radiator air deflector.
4. Remove the nut and disconnect the compressor manifold and tube assembly fitting at the condenser.
- Discard the O-ring seal.
- To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 lb-in).
5. Remove the engine oil indicator and position the ignition coil aside.
1 Remove the engine oil indicator.
2 Remove the 3 bolts.
3 Position the ignition coil aside.
- To install, tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).
6. Disconnect the compressor manifold and tube assembly spring lock coupling at the suction accumulator.
- Discard the O-ring seals.
7. Remove the compressor manifold and tube assembly.
1 Disconnect the pressure cutoff switch electrical connector.
2 Loosen the compressor manifold bolt.
3 Remove the compressor manifold and tube assembly.
- Discard the O-ring seals.
- To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
8. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Install new O-ring seals lubricated in clean mineral oil.
- Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil.
9. Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system.
