Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.
2. Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector and the breather tubes.
3. Loosen the outlet tube-to-throttle body clamp and disconnect the outlet tube from the throttle body.
^ To install, tighten to 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.).
4. Remove the engine air cleaner housing cover and position it aside.
5. Remove the brake master cylinder.
6. Remove the speed control module nuts. Position the module and bracket aside.
^ To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
7. Disconnect the manual control lever cable from the transmission range sensor (TRS).
8. Remove the manual cable bracket nut.
^ To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
9. Remove the manual cable bracket bolts and position the bracket aside.
^ To install, tighten to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
10. Detach the booster check valve.
11. Remove and discard the heater hose retainer nut and detach the heater hose retainer. Position the hose aside.
^ To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
12. NOTE: It is not necessary to disconnect the electrical connector.
Detach the wiring harness and the electrical connector retainers. Position the wiring harness aside.
13. Remove the 2 steering column opening cover bolts and the steering column opening cover.
^ To install, tighten to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.).
14. Disconnect the push rod.
1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
2. Remove the retaining clip.
3. Slide the push rod off the pin and remove the stoplight switch, the 2 washers and the bushing.
15. Remove the 4 brake pedal bracket nuts.
^ To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
16. Remove the brake booster from the vehicle.
17. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
