Parking Brake Cable - Rear, LH

Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.





2. NOTE: While holding the rod, turn the adjustment nut.

Slacken the parking brake cable.





3. Disconnect the LH rear parking brake cable and conduit.





4. Compress the retainer and pull the LH rear parking brake cable and conduit out of the body bracket.
5. Remove the brake drum.
6. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the lever.

7. NOTE: It is necessary to remove only the primary (front) brake shoe.

Remove the primary brake shoe.





8. Compress the retainer and pull the parking brake cable and conduit out of the brake backing plate.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Make sure the retainers are locked securely in place. Carry out the Parking Brake Cable Adjustment.
