Brake Shoe Adjustment - Drums Installed
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
2. At the back of the brake backing plate, remove the brake adjusting hole cover.





3. Rotate the brake shoe adjusting screw nut.
1. Using a screwdriver, move the brake shoe adjusting lever off the brake shoe adjusting screw nut.

2. NOTE: Move the adjustment tool handle upward to tighten the brake adjuster screw.

Turn the brake shoe adjusting screw nut until the brake drum begins to drag. Then loosen the brake adjuster screw until the brake drum rotates freely.
4. Install a new brake adjusting hole cover.
