Removal and Replacement

Transmission Fluid Cooler

Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
2. Remove the lower air deflector.
3. Remove and discard the 2 transmission fluid cooler-to-hose clamps.
4. Remove the transmission fluid cooler inlet hose from the cooler.
5. Remove the transmission fluid cooler outlet hose from the cooler.
6. Remove the 2 transmission fluid cooler retaining screws.
7. Lift and remove the transmission fluid cooler from the retaining pockets.

Installation
1. Position the transmission fluid cooler in the retaining pockets.
2. Install the transmission fluid cooler screws.
^ Tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs).
3. Connect the transmission fluid cooler hoses to the cooler.
4. Install new transmission cooler-to-hose clamps.
5. Fill the transmission with clean automatic transmission fluid and verify correct operation.
6. Install the lower air deflector.
