Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair

Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet pipe.
3. Remove the accessory drive belt.
4. NOTE: This bolt is torque-to-yield and cannot be reused.
Using the special tool to hold the crankshaft pulley, remove the bolt.
5. Using the special tools and two 8-mm bolts, remove the crankshaft pulley.
- Discard the crankshaft pulley bolt.
Installation
1. Using the special tool, install the crankshaft pulley.
2. Using the special tool to hold the crankshaft pulley, install a new crankshaft pulley bolt.
Tighten the bolt in 2 stages.
- Stage 1: Tighten to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
- Stage 2: Tighten an additional 85 degrees.
3. Install the accessory drive belt.
4. Install the air cleaner outlet pipe.
