Power Steering Pump
Power Steering PumpSpecial Tool(s):
Removal
1. Rotate the tensioner clockwise and remove the belt from the power steering pump pulley.
2. Loosen the fitting and disconnect the power steering pressure (PSP) line.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
4. Disconnect the power steering return hose.
5. Using the special tool, remove the power steering pump pulley.
6. Remove the 3 power steering pump mounting bolts and the power steering pump.
Installation
1. Position the power steering pump and install the 3 power steering pump bolts.
^ Tighten to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
2. NOTE: The pulley must be installed within 0.25 mm (0.010 inch) flush with the power steering pump shaft.
Using the special tool, install the power steering pump pulley.
3. Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
4. Connect the electrical connector.
5. NOTE: Whenever a line fitting with Teflon (R) O-ring seal is disconnected, a new Teflon (R) O-ring seal must be installed.
Using the special tool, install a new Teflon (R) O-ring seal on the power steering pressure line fitting.
6. Connect the PSP line to the power steering pump.
^ Tighten to 37 Nm (27 ft. lbs.).
7. Rotate the tensioner counterclockwise and install the belt onto the power steering pump pulley.
8. Fill and leak check the system.
