Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor

CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR












Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Remove the 2 pin-type retainers and the accelerator control shield.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable, speed control actuator cable and the throttle return spring from the throttle body lever.
5. Remove the 2 bolts and position the accelerator cable bracket and cables aside.
- To install, tighten to 17 Nm (13 lb-ft).

6. Disconnect the degas bottle hose and position aside.
7. Detach the spark plug wire retainer.
8. Release the fuel charging wiring harness from the valve cover studs and position the wiring harness away from the camshaft position sensor.
9. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
10. Remove the 2 screws and the CMP sensor.
11. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Make sure that the fuel charging wiring harness is fully secured to the valve cover studs.

12. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
