Interior Lighting
INTERIOR LIGHTINGThe interior lighting system consists of the following components:
- Dome/map lamp assembly
- Luggage compartment lamp assembly
- Approach lamp assemblies
- Vanity mirror lamp assemblies
- Smart junction box (SJB)
- Interior lamp relay (integral to the SJB)
- Battery saver relay (integral to the SJB)
The interior lamp system is separated into 2 subsystems:
- The interior lighting subsystem
- The demand lighting subsystem
The interior lighting subsystem is controlled by the SJB. The SJB illuminates the interior lamps when any door is open or ajar, or when an unlock signal is received from the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter or RKE keypad. The SJB will turn off the interior lamps when all doors are closed, the RKE transmitter has transmitted a lock signal, or 25 seconds have elapsed since the illuminated entry feature was activated. The interior lamps can also be activated and deactivated by toggling the main interior lamp switch.
The demand lighting subsystem is controlled by the SJB. The SJB illuminates the demand lamps when the ignition key is in the ON position. The demand lamps will only illuminate when the switch on a specific lamp is toggled ON.
