Exterior Lighting

EXTERIOR LIGHTING

The exterior lighting system consists of:
- Headlamp switch
- Multifunction switch
- Stoplamp switch
- High mounted stoplamp
- Headlamps
- Reversing lamps
- License lamps
- Rear lamps
- Front parking/turn signal lamps (located in the headlamp assembly)
- Light sensor (if equipped with autolamps)
- Smart junction box (SJB)

Headlamps
The headlamp switch controls the headlamps. The multifunction switch determines whether power is supplied to the low beam or high beam headlamps.

Autolamps
The headlamp switch provides input to the SJB for automatic control of the exterior lamps when the headlamp switch is in the autolamps ON position. The SJB monitors the light sensor and determines if the ambient light level requires the exterior lamps on or off.

Stoplamps
The stoplamp switch controls voltage to the rear lamps and the high mounted stoplamp.

Turn Signal and Hazard Lamps
The multifunction switch controls the turn signals and hazard lamps.

Parking Lamps
The headlamp switch controls the parking lamps. The front parking lamps are integral to the headlamp assemblies.

Reversing Lamps
The digital transmission range (TR) sensor controls voltage to the reversing lamps. The reversing lamps are integral to the rear lamp assemblies.
