Coolant Pump

Coolant Pump:








Removal
1. Drain the cooling system.
2. Loosen the 4 coolant pump pulley bolts.
3. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories.
4. Remove the degas bottle.
5. Remove the generator. For additional information, refer to Alternator.
6. Remove the bolt, the nut and the roll restrictor and bracket.
7. Remove the bolt and accessory drive belt tensioner.
8. Remove the nut, the bolt and the support bracket.
9. Remove the 4 bolts and the coolant pump pulley.
10. Disconnect the coolant pump inlet hose and the crankshaft sensor electrical connector and position aside.
11. Remove the 10 bolts, 2 stud bolts and the coolant pump.
^ Clean the sealing surfaces.

Installation





1. Position the coolant pump and loosely install the 10 bolts and 2 stud bolts.
^ Tighten bolts 1-7 in the sequence shown to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten bolts 8-12 in the sequence shown to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
2. Connect the coolant pump inlet hose and the crankshaft sensor electrical connector.
3. Install the 4 bolts and the coolant pump pulley.
^ Do not tighten the bolts at this time.
4. Install the nut, the bolt and the support bracket.
^ Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the accessory drive belt tensioner.
^ Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the bolt, the nut and the roll restrictor and bracket.
^ Tighten the nut to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the bolt to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the generator. For additional information, refer to Alternator.
8. Install the degas bottle.
9. Install the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories.
10. Tighten the 4 coolant pump pulley bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
11. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
