EngineAssembly (Steps 64-92)
64. Connect the EGR valve vacuum hose.
65. Position the upper intake manifold support bracket and install the bolt and 2 nuts.
^ Tighten the bolt to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten the 2 nuts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
^ Attach the pin-type harness retainer to the bracket.
66. Connect the idle air control (IAC) valve and throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connectors.
^ Attach the harness retainer to the throttle body stud bolt.
67. Install the EGR tube.
^ Tighten to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
^ Connect the electrical connector.
68. NOTE: Coat the sealing surfaces of the crankshaft damper with clean engine oil and coat the crankshaft damper keyway with silicone gasket and sealant.
Using the special tool, install the crankshaft damper.
69. Install the crankshaft damper bolt and the washer.
^ Tighten to 145 Nm (107 ft. lbs.).
70. Install the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor and the 2 bolts.
^ Tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
71. Install the crankshaft pulley and the bolts.
^ Tighten to 63 Nm (46 ft. lbs.).
72. Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector.
73. Install the coolant pump pulley and 4 bolts.
^ Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
74. Install the RH engine support bracket and the 4 bolts.
^ Tighten to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
75. Install the heat shield and the 2 pin-type retainers.
76. Install the knock sensor (KS) and bolt.
^ Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
77. Connect the KS electrical connector and the 3 wiring harness pin-type retainers.
78. Install the A/C compressor mounting bracket and 4 bolts.
^ Tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
79. Install the A/C compressor and 4 bolts.
^ Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
80. Install the wiring harness connectors on the bracket and connect the LH heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
81. Connect the A/C compressor clutch coil electrical connector.
82. Connect the A/C high pressure cutoff switch electrical connector.
83. Install the power steering pump and bracket assembly, bolt and 2 nuts.
^ Tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
84. Install the support bracket, nut and bolt.
^ Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
85. Install the drive belt tensioner and bolt.
^ Tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
86. Install the drive belt idler pulley and bolt.
^ Tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
87. Install the generator support bracket, generator, nut and the bolt.
^ Hand tighten the bolt and the nut.
88. Install the engine roll restrictor brace, nut and the bolt.
^ Tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
89. Tighten the generator support bracket nut and bolt to 25 Nm 18 ft. lbs.).
90. Install the drive belt.
91. Install the spacer, flexplate and the bolts.
^ Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.).
92. Remove the engine from the stand.
