Radiator: Service and Repair

Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Maintenance/Service and Repair.
2. Remove the battery and battery tray. For additional information, refer to Battery.
3. Drain the cooling system.
4. Disconnect the upper radiator hose and position aside.
5. Disconnect the degas bottle-to-radiator hose and position aside.
6. Using the special tool, disconnect the upper transmission cooler tube.
7. Remove the 2 upper A/C condenser retaining bolts.
^ To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
8. Remove the 4 radiator support bracket bolts and the radiator support bracket.
^ To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
9. Disconnect the lower radiator hose and position aside.
10. Using the special tool, disconnect the lower transmission cooler tube.
11. NOTE: Secure the A/C condenser.
Remove the 2 lower A/C condenser retaining bolts.
^ To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
12. Remove the 2 bolts retaining the P/S cooler to the radiator.
^ To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
13. Remove the 2 nuts and the 2 radiator support brackets.
^ To install, tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
14. Remove the radiator from the vehicle.
15. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
16. Fill and bleed the cooling system.
