Parking Brake Control:

Removal and Installation
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Battery.





2. Disconnect the parking brake warning indicator switch electrical connector.

3. NOTE: Make sure the parking brake is in the released position.

Disconnect the parking brake release actuator.





4. Disconnect the front parking brake cable and conduit.





5. Remove the 2 nuts and pull firmly down on the smart junction box (SJB) and position the SJB out of the way.
^ To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.).
6. Remove the 3 parking brake control nuts.
^ To install, tighten to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
7. Separate the parking brake control from the studs.
8. Compress the retainer and disconnect the front parking brake cable and conduit from the parking brake control.
9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
^ Adjust the parking brake cable.
