Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes

Removal
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Vehicle/Application and ID
2. Vehicles equipped with a 4.6L engine, remove the fluid cooler tube bracket at the engine.





3. Vehicles equipped with a (4.0L engine, remove the fluid cooler tube bracket at the engine.





4. NOTE: Use a backup wrench to hold the case fitting secure.

Remove the fluid cooler tubes at the transmission.





5. Remove and discard the transmission cooler tube-to-hose clamps and remove the fluid cooler tubes.





Installation

1. NOTE: When connecting the cooler hoses to the cooler lines the white mark on the cooler tube must be aligned with the H mark on the hose.

Using new clamps, install the fluid cooler hoses on the fluid cooler tubes.

2. NOTE: Use a backup wrench to hold the case fitting secure.

Install the fluid cooler tubes at the transmission.
^ Tighten to 40 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).





3. Vehicles equipped with a 4.6L engine, install the fluid cooler tube bracket at the engine.
^ Tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).





4. Vehicles equipped with a (4.0L engine, install the fluid cooler tube bracket at the engine.
^ Tighten to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).





5. Fill the transmission with fluid and verify proper operation.
