Normal Operation
The exterior mirror control switch is supplied voltage through circuit 956 (OG/LG) and grounded through circuit 1205 (BK). The exterior mirror control switch activates the LH exterior mirror by switching voltage and ground to circuits 541 (DB), 540 (RD), and 542 (YE). The switch activates the RH exterior mirror by switching voltage and ground to circuits 544 (VT), 543 (DG), and 542 (YE). The exterior mirror control switch must be in the appropriate (left or right) position for the desired mirror to operate.
Possible Causes
- circuit 540 (RD) open, short to voltage, or short to ground
- circuit 541 (DB) open, short to voltage, or short to ground
- circuit 542 (YE) open, short to voltage, or short to ground
- circuit 543 (DG) open, short to voltage, or short to ground
- circuit 544 (VT) open, short to voltage, or short to ground
- exterior mirror control switch
- exterior mirror motor
