Piston Rings

Disassembly
1. Remove pistons.

2. NOTE: Any piston rings that are removed from pistons should be discarded and replaced with new rings.

Remove two compressor rings with a suitable piston ring expander. Remove two oil control rings and expander by hand.
3. Clean and inspect pistons. Replace pistons as required.

Assembly

Piston Ring Installation:

1. Check the end gap of all piston rings. End gap must be within specifications.
2. Using a suitable piston ring expander, install two compression rings as shown. Position compression rings, oil control rings and expander gaps on pistons as shown.
3. Install pistons.
