Oil Cooler: Service and Repair

Removal





1. Remove oil filter.
2. Position drain pan under engine oil cooler.
3. Disconnect oil cooler-water-bypass hoses from engine oil cooler.
4. Remove oil cooler mounting bolt insert and engine oil cooler from oil filter adapter.

Installation
1. Install engine oil cooler on oil filter adapter, aligning projection on oil filter adapter with location tab on engine oil cooler.
2. Install oil cooler mounting bolt insert and tighten to 40-49 Nm (30-36 ft. lbs.)
3. Connect oil cooler-water-bypass hoses to engine oil cooler.
4. Install oil bypass filter.
5. Check engine coolant and oil levels. Add specified coolant and oil as required to bring up to proper levels.
6. Run engine and check for leaks.
