Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley: Service and Repair
Special Tools:
Removal
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove RH front wheel and tire assembly.
Front Fender Splash Shield Removal And Installation (2 Of 2):
3. Remove forward RH splash shield from front fender apron for access to crankshaft pulley.
4. Remove accessory drive belt.
5. Remove crankshaft pulley bolt and washer from crankshaft.
6. Using Steering Wheel Puller 211-014
(T67L-3600-A) remove crankshaft pulley from crankshaft.
Installation
1. NOTE: Prior to applying sealer, clean sealing surfaces with Metal Surface Cleaner F4AZ-19A536-RA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M513392-A, to remove all residues that may interfere with the sealer's ability to adhere.
Apply Silicone Gasket and Sealant F6AZ-19562-AA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M4G323-A6 to the front of the crankshaft on the inside diameter surface of the crankshaft pulley at keyway.
2. Install crankshaft pulley using Vibration Damper and Seal Replacer 303-175 (T82L-6316-A) and washer from crankshaft pulley bolt.
3. Install crankshaft pulley bolt and washer. Tighten retaining bolt as follows:
^ Tighten crankshaft pulley bolt to 105-135 Nm (78-99 ft. lbs.)
^ Loosen crankshaft pulley bolt a minimum of one full turn.
^ Tighten crankshaft pulley bolt to 47-53 Nm (35-39 ft. lbs.)
^ Rotate crankshaft pulley bolt an additional 85-95 degrees.
4. Install drive belt.
5. Tighten retaining screws for splash shield securely.
