Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Removal from Vehicle
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Disconnect the solenoid hose assembly from the canister vent solenoid.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the canister vent solenoid.
4. Remove canister and bracket assembly bolts and nuts.












5. Partially lower the EVAP canister with bracket assembly and disconnect from the canister.

Removal of Evaporative Emissions Canister from Evaporative Emissions Canister Bracket

1. Using a suitable tool, applied at the end opposite the vapor ports, pry the evaporative emissions canister (EVAP canister)out of its bracket.
2. Disconnect the canister vent solenoid with evaporative emission canister vent tube from the canister port.
3. Disconnect the EVAP canister purge sleeve from the ports on the canister.
4. Disconnect the evaporative emission tube from the canister port.

INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Perform leak test procedure.
3. Perform the Evaporative Emission Running Loss Monitor Repair Verification Drive Cycle Test.
