Fluid Pump: Description and Operation

The AX4S transaxle has a variable displacement pump that supplies fluid under pressure to the hydraulic system. The torque converter cover rotates a driveshaft that operates the pump. The pump assembly has the following parts:
^ body (part of the main control)
^ cover
^ rotor with vanes and related parts
^ pivoting bore ring with a pump priming spring
