EGR Tube: Service and Repair
EGR Valve-To-Exhaust Manifold Tube:
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect EGR backpressure transducer hoses from Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) valve to exhaust manifold tube.
2. Disconnect EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube at EGR valve using a crowfoot wrench.
3. Remove two EGR valve-to-exhaust manifold tube retaining bolts, EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube and EGR valve tube inlet gasket from the RH exhaust manifold.
INSTALLATION
1. Clean RH exhaust manifold sealing surface to remove any residual EGR valve tube inlet gasket material.
2. Position EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube into EGR valve and loosely connect EGR valve-to-exhaust manifold tube nut to EGR valve.
3. Install new EGR valve tube inlet gasket and bolts retaining EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube to the RH exhaust manifold. Tighten bolts to 15-23 Nm (11-17 lb ft).
4. Tighten EGR valve tube-to-exhaust manifold tube nut at EGR valve to 35-65 Nm (26-47 lb ft).
5. Connect EGR backpressure transducer hoses to EGR valve.
