Upper Intake Manifold

1. Disconnect and isolate battery ground cable, then relieve fuel system pressure.
2. Remove engine appearance cover.
3. Remove righthand half of cowl vent screen.
4. Remove throttle body.
5. Disconnect main emission vacuum supply hose from surge tank fitting and EGR valve, then position hose aside.
6. Disconnect vacuum tube from manifold vacuum union.
7. Remove transducer mounting bracket from surge tank, then position bracket aside.
8. Remove manifold supports from surge tank and cylinder head.
9. Remove EGR valve.
10. Remove retaining bolts and tank stays from front and rear of surge tank.
11. Remove radio ignition capacitor bracket, then position capacitor aside.
12. Remove intake manifold retaining bolts in an alternating sequence.
13. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten manifold retaining bolts in an alternating sequence to 14-20 ft lb.
