Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle, then drain engine oil into a suitable container.
2. Remove dual converter Y-pipe.
3. Remove oil pan retaining bolts from transaxle housing and engine block, then pan.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. After cleaning all sealing surfaces with metal surface cleaner part F4AZ-19A536-RA, or equivalent, apply a 0.16 inch thickness bead of black silicone rubber F4AZ-19562-B, or equivalent, to surfaces where pan, front cover and block meet.

b. Tighten oil pan bolts in sequence to 14-20 ft lb.
c. Tighten oil drain plug to 15-25 ft lb.
