THROTTLE BODY - SERVICE REPLACEMENT PART
INFORMATION - SERVICE TIP - FLEXIBLE FUEL
VEHICLES (FFV)

FORD:
1993 TAURUS

ISSUE:
The throttle body assemblies for Flexible Fuel Vehicles (FFV) are no longer available for service.

ACTION:
If replacement of the throttle body is required, replace the throttle body with the gasoline model throttle body. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Tape the Cold Start Injector (CSI) harness back to prevent it from contacting any other engine components. The CSI is not needed and will not result in any start up and/or driveability concerns.

2. Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 138 will be set, but the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) will not illuminate.

3. Refer to the 1993 Taurus Service Manual for throttle body replacement.
