Attachment III - Technical Instructions

The technical instructions to modify the Daytime Running Lights system are as follows:

1. Obtain the new design Daytime Running Light (DRL) Module, part number FO2Z-15A272-C; the housing of this module is green in colour and has 9 electrical pins.

2. Refer to Figure 1 for the location of the Daytime Running Light module.

3. The instrument panel under side trim cover must be removed to gain access to the module. Refer to Figure 2.

a. Remove the three push pin panel screws and their retaining plugs.

b. Squeeze the tabs on the retaining clip (located deep in the footwell) and remove the instrument panel underside trim cover.

4. The existing module has a black housing and is located on the right of the relay junction box. Remove the DRL module and the attaching bracket from the relay junction box then disconnect the wire harness.

NOTE:
To remove the DRL module and attaching bracket, gently tilt the module to the left while pulling outward.

5. Install the revised module (green housing) to the wire harness connector and then install onto the relay box.

6. Reinstall the underside trim cover panel reversing steps 3(a) and 3(b). Make sure heater plenum duct is aligned. Also, if unit is equipped with a footwell light, insert the bulb into the socket on the trim cover.

7. Confirm the operation of the new module as follows:

^ Block the drive wheels, turn off the headlamp switch, turn the ignition key to the "ON" position, and release the parking brake.

^ The Daytime Running Lights (front parking lamps) should now be on.

^ Activate the left turn signal. The left front and rear turn signal lamps will flash on and off. The right side front park lamp should remain on.

^ Activate the right turn signal. The right front and rear turn signal lamps should flash on and off. The left side front park lamp should remain on.

8. Mutilate and scrap the removed DRL module.
