THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR REPLACEMENT INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS






Service Part Number



AFFECTED VEHICLES:

1990-91 model year, 3.0L engine-equipped Probes produced for sale in 49 states and California and built through November 30, 1990.


INSPECTION AND MODIFICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Inspect the existing throttle position sensor on the vehicle. If the part number is E7DF-9B989-AA and DOES NOT have a yellow dot, replace the TP sensor using service part kit F12Z-9B989-DA.

2. Remove and discard the original TP sensor retaining screws and install new screws provided in the kit. Tighten the new screws to 2.8 - 3.8 N-m (25 - 33 LB.IN.).

3. If the part number is NOT E7DF-9B989-AA or the sensor has a yellow dot, it is NOT necessary to replace the TP sensor.

^ Insert your P&A code and date and attach to a clean surface on the cooling fan shroud.
^ Place clear overlay on the decal.
