Reason For Recall
The Daytime Running Lights (DRL's) remain ON with the ignition switched ON, the headlamp switch in the off position and the parking brake released. Activating the turn signal temporarily cancels the DRLs which should remain continuously on. For example, if the left turn signal is turned on, the left front and rear bulb will "flash on and off", and the right side front bulb will be turned off (not illuminated). If the right turn signal is turned on, the right front and rear bulb will "flash on and off", and the left side front bulb will be turned off.
Performing the recall will result in the non-flashing front bulb remaining illuminated during turn signal applications. This manner of operation will be consistent with requirements of Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (CMVSS) No. 108, "Lighting Equipment".
Service Action
Dealers are instructed to replace the Daytime Running Light Module with one of a revised design.
