Upper Intake Manifold and Throttle Body

Upper Intake Manifold Removal/Installation:





REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
2. Remove air cleaner duct tube from the throttle body.
3. Remove plastic shield from the throttle body.
4. Remove EGR supply tube.
5. Disconnect all vacuum hoses from the throttle body.

Throttle Cable:






6. Disconnect electrical connections to ACT, ISC and Throttle Position Sensors.
7. Remove the MAP Sensor from the throttle body.
8. Disconnect throttle cable and TV cable from throttle lever.

Throttle Body Assembly:




9. Remove the fuel rail bolt from the throttle body.
10. Loosen and remove six throttle body retaining bolts.
11. Lift and remove throttle body assembly from intake manifold.



INSTALLATION

Intake Plenum Removal/Installation:





NOTE: Lightly oil all bolt and stud threads prior to installation.

1. Clean and inspect the mounting faces of the lower and upper intake manifolds.
2. Position new gasket on lower intake mounting face. The use of alignment studs may be helpful.
3. Install upper intake manifold and throttle body assembly to lower manifold.
4. Aligning bolt holes, install throttle body on intake manifold. Install the six attaching bolts. Tighten to 15-22 lb. ft. (20-30 N-m).
5. Install the fuel rail bolt on the throttle body and tighten securely..
6. Connect throttle and TV cables to throttle body linkage.
7. Connect electrical connections to ACT, ISC and Throttle Position Sensor.
8. Install the MAP Sensor on the throttle body.
9. Connect all vacuum hoses to the throttle body.
10. Install the EGR supply tube.
11. Install the plastic shield on the throttle body.
12. Install the air cleaner tube on the throttle body.
13. Connect negative battery cable.
