Crankshaft: Service and Repair
1. Remove accessory drive belts.2. Raise and support vehicle, then remove right front wheel.
3. Remove plastic inner fender shield.
4. Remove water pump belt, then lower vehicle.
5. Support engine with suitable jack.
6. On models with manual transaxle, remove righthand engine mount.
7. On models with automatic transaxle, remove spacer from water pump bracket.
8. On all models, remove right upper engine mount to timing cover.
9. Lower jack carefully allowing engine to rest on remaining mounts.
10. Raise and support vehicle.
11. Remove crankshaft damper bolt and flat washer.
12. Using puller crankshaft damper remover tool No. T58P-6316-D or equivalent, remove crankshaft damper from crankshaft.
13. When removing damper, remove three nuts and one bolt that attach right side of subframe to body. Pull down slightly to provide clearance for damper removal.
14. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Lubricate crankshaft damper sealing surface with clean engine oil.
b. Apply sealer to keyway of damper.
c. Tighten vibration damper to specifications.
