Weather Seal Retainer Modification and Inspection

WEATHER SEAL RETAINER MODIFICATION

1. Remove the weather seal form the roof retainer.

2. Remove the roof retainer from the car.

3. Starting at the front of the roof retainer, enlarge the first three (3) attaching screw holes from 5 mm to 7 mm.


4. Re-position the roof retainer. Use flat washers on the enlarged holes.

5. Before tightening the roof retainer attaching screws, pull the roof retainer outward and then secure the attaching screws.

6. Reinstall the weather seal to the roof retainer.

7. If windnoise or water leak concerns are still present, proceed to the door opening body weatherstrip inspection.

DOOR OPENING UPPER BODY WEATHERSTRIP INSPECTION

Check for proper air and water sealing of the door glass to the upper door opening body weatherstrip.
